BENNY CUKIER - MAJORITY OWNER AND MANAGING PARTNER
Many of Benny’s fondest memories are of his mother who made many Ashkenazi delights such as flanken, stuffed cabbage, brisket, gefilte fish and many homemade baked goods. His parents always had a love and respect for food and they frequented many of Jewish Deli’s in the Los Angeles area. As a kid Benny and his best friend Stacy would ride bikes down Fairfax avenue and stop for cookies at the several of the down town deli’s.
Benny who is owner of Group Travel Associates, which he has owned and operated for 39 years, has always dreamed of owning his own deli. He loves the warm and inviting atmosphere where families gather. As an adult living in North Los Angeles, Benny became friends with the owners of three deli’s, A,goura Deli, Country Deli and his favorite, Pickles Deli. He Frequented Pickles so often they named a salad after him, called the “Benny Salad”.
Once moving to Seattle, Benny and his wife Peggy were looking for a Jewish style deli to frequent; there they became acquainted with Goldberg’s deli. They loved this deli, and let it be known if there was ever an interest to sell, they would be interested. The door opened and Benny jumped at the chance. Benny now is majority owner and managing partner of Goldberg’s Deli. He is there every day and is excited to tell you about the great food Goldberg’s offers.

STEVE AND BILL GOLDBERG
He learned how to cook from his Bubbie and father spending countless hours helping to prepare family feasts. The deli business runs deep in his blood. Today Steve owns and operates the Stage in its new location in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
While Steve was learning the Jewish culinary secrets of latkes and knishes, Bill was developing a palate for great Jewish deli. Bill's family grew up eating in local delis. They were partial to The Stage Deli where they could savor the perfect Dinty Moore. Many of Bill's favorite family memories revolve around the Stage where the family met weekly over pickles and corned beef to have a great schmooze.
Over the years, Bill, in his new Seattle home, often complained to Steve, "I am a desperate man in search of the same delicious foods from the Stage Deli. Please come to Seattle to open a top-notch Jewish Deli." After countless years of hearing this lament, Steve finally agreed and thus began a partnership to build Goldbergs' Famous Delicatessen in Bellevue, WA, which opened its doors in May 2005.
These two friends now have even more in common now Goldbergs' Deli, a traditional, upscale deli in Factoria Mall near Seattle. Steve is also operator of Stage & Co. in Michigan which operates The Stage Deli in West Bloomfield and Stage Delis in Troy and Dearborn. Bill (William H.) Goldberg is the co-owner of Goldberg & Jones Attorneys at Law in Seattle. Bill (Administrative partner) and Steve involved today as minority partners.
